----------------------------------------------- We are developing fact sheets of indicators (technical, political, economic, and cultural) and questionnaires for information collection on utility service issues and related accomplishments of the Utilities for All activities of the Cameroon Utilities Bill/Act 2009, in every community or quarter. The effort will be helping to update awareness at all times, regarding what is happening on the ground, where, when, and whether progress is being made or not. Stakeholders will be stimulated to reflect on the collected information, detect issues arising, ensure corrective actions are taken and followed-up. This will further community or quarter empowerment and foster creativity in all and at all levels, enabling good ideas to be disseminated broadly, within Cameroon and around the world. ----------------------------------------------- With Utilities Authorities and other Executive Agencies We are also increasing establishment of extensive networks of contacts with utilities authorities and other executive agencies to keep them informed of accomplishment requirements of the Cameroon Utilities Bill/Act 2008, and encouraging them to share their response experiences, increase public interactivity with their service conception and implementation in communities or quarters and facilitate our data collection, processing and use. ------------------------------------------------- The test case we have before the court in Kumba is not intended to be the last if things do not change for the better in utility services. We are increasing our capacity to challenge a wide variety of utility service issues of public policy interest. We are collecting utility service complaints from people and studying them carefully, as necessary, for possible court action. Parliamentarians and their staff including officials in the General Secretariat of Parliament and local legislatures have to be informed on, and helped to effectively address, the public concerns and issues in utility services.
